Project

Corner Stop is a small independent convenience store in downtown Edmonton. It spent years tucked in the basement of an office tower until a renovation moved it up to the main floor, into the corner of the building. The new storefront brought street visibility for the first time, and with it the need for an identity that could hold its own at eye level.

The brief — The owner wanted three things: friendly, uniquely local, fresh. Those words filtered every decision that followed. Identity — With Rogers Place just steps away, I built the mark around a bear in a hockey helmet — warm and playful up close, and unmistakably tied to this corner of the city. It scales from the exterior sign down to a sticker on a banana, and gives the store something a chain can't copy: a sense of place.
